From Chroma, whose previous Fantastic Pitches-winning project PLAY HOUSE was sold in a landmark seven-figure deal to Focus Features/Blumhouse following this year’s festival, FATHER FIGURE marks another bold new horror project from the team.
FATHER FIGURE is an elevated possession relationship horror in the vein of OBSESSION. The film follows a young couple whose intimate woodland wedding descends into a nightmare when an uninvited guest exposes a terrifying family secret.
Combining the unsettling folk horror of MIDSOMMAR with the visceral intensity of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, the film blends psychological dread, shocking twists and visceral scares into a nightmarish wedding celebration.
Written and directed by Connor Martin (THE DREGS) and produced by Josh Farnworth, the project is currently in pre-production, with delivery anticipated in Q3 2027 and a world premiere planned for Fantastic Fest 2027.
